Dillinger is a leading international manufacturer of heavy plate for the construction of offshore wind turbines, machinery and steel construction.
Saarstahl is a world leader in the manufacture of wire rod and bar steel for the automotive industry, the construction industry and for general machine manufacturing.
Impressive bridge structures such as the arched bridge of the new tramway line from Strasbourg to Kehl, the Pont de Normandie near Le Havre or the Simone de Beauvoir pedestrian bridge over the Seine in Paris and the highest walkable observation deck in the Western world („The Edge“ in New York“) are made of steel from Dillinger.
The thinnest wire rod in Europe (4.5 mm) comes from Saarstahl. And Saarstahl’s thermomechanically rolled spring steel cuts weight in vehicle construction by up to 20 percent, which means lower consumption and emissions.
Together, Dillinger and Saarstahl are also the largest employer and the largest training company in Saarland and are responsible here for around 15 percent of the total sales of the manufacturing sector.
